CTI Dealer – Reece Tent Rental – Another Success Story

Approximately ten years ago, we began a business relationship with Lake Lanier Islands Resort by installing several tents per year for small events. Approximately five years ago, the Williams family purchased the resort and began a 28 million dollar renovation. Mr. Williams’ dream was to attract more wedding business and to create several wedding venues. To date there are 20 wedding venues on the property. Because of our relationship it was an easy decision for them to call Reece Tent Rental to help achieve the total number of venues needed. A 40 x 80 Shasta high peak for the Legacy Pointe area behind Legacy Lodge, a 40 x 60 Shasta high peak for the Venetian Pier, and a 30 x 60 Shasta high peak for Legacy Links Golf Course was purchased with the help of Robert Stafford. All three tents have custom features. At first I was reluctant to make the sale of these tents to the resort because lost revenue on rentals to the resort but, as these sales were being completed and installed their needs for other tents on the property has grown tremendously. Their respect and admiration for these structures from Creative Tents and Robert Stafford along with great customer service from Reece Tent Rental has allowed our business to grow with Lake Lanier Islands Resort.

2009 ARA Foundation Scholarship Award

Creative Tent International would like to congratulate an employee, Kendra Aker, on being selected to recieve a scholarship from the ARA Foundation. This year the Foudation received 87 scholarship applications; 23 scholarships were awarded for the 2009/2010 academic year. CTI is very proud of Kendra’s accomplishment and looks forward to her future accomplishments within her education. Kendra Aker will be attending Sonoma State University in the fall and will be majoring in Business Administration.

In soldiers slang, the “flash-to-bang time,” represents the time from when the gun recoils to when the shell actually explodes. The shorter the interval of time, the more productive this system will be. This type of timing scenario relates to the buiness of design. In the business of design the “flash-to-bang time,” represents the interval of time the product is sold to when the product has left the manufacturer. “Creative Tent International designs, engineers, manufacturers, and sales their own products, so finding new innovative ways to reduce lead times is an ongoing process,” says Robert Stafford, designer of the CIT products. The reduction of time between the falsh to bang or in this case the sale to ship is vital for CTI’s success. CTI depends on the creative minds of its staff to make this happen.

In the 1980’s, Robert Stafford created two or three products that took about three years to manufacture. Even in those days, he talked about Design, First Articles, Manufacturing Articles, and the Manufacturing Process. CTI has invested heavily in people to meet the ever-changing times. Real-time flash-to-bang is now incorporated into the production process.

CTI production time of 4 to 6 weeks is now the goal of “real time flash-to-bang.”

This goal is attainable through investment in technology, and when even more importantly with investment in people. Technology is of abundant all over the world and comes relatively cheap; people make things happen and in a timely manner. At CTI, our emphasis is not only on technology, “it’s on our people.”

The manufacturing models CTI have created place an emphasis on “quality people create quality products.” Through its people, CTI created a new product for 2009. The FTS150 Shasta Shelter was creatd in Real Time Flash-to-Bang.

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear friend Will Brown. He passed away unexpectedly the evening of January 3^rdafter a wonderful day snowboarding on the slopes of our magnificent Mt. Shasta. His love of snowboarding was only eclipsed by his passion for Fly Fishing and music. Will possessed a magical sense of humor and an upbeat personality that never failed to bring joy to everyone around him. Over the last two years with Creative Tent Will had developed into a very successful salesman and was very proud of the contribution he made to our company. He will be dearly missed, but we will always celebrate his life in our hearts!
